Life Story for Valeria Woloschuk

WOLOSCHUK - Mrs. Valeria Woloschuk, recently of Regina, formerly of Yorkton and the Otthon district, widow of Nick Woloschuk was called home to be with her Lord and Saviour on August 2nd, 2017, after a brief illness at the age of 101 years.
Valeria was born in the Brewer district on December 9th, 1915 to Joseph and Mary Osicki (nee Dobko). She was the youngest daughter of 10 children. She received her education at Pulaski Plains School. As a young girl her interests included drawing, making crafts and sewing. She had beautiful handwriting and often talked about how the teachers would make them practice. At the age of 15, she left school to help out on the family farm.
On June 18, 1935, Valeria was united in marriage to Nicholas Woloschuk at St. Cunnegunda Church in the Otthon district. The couple resided in the Yorkton area where they farmed for more than 50 years. This union was blessed with 11 children, 5 boys and 6 girls. Mom was a magician in the kitchen. She had a talent for putting together a meal in a moment's notice whenever anyone dropped by. She was a talented seamstress often designing her own patterns from nothing but looking at a picture creating beautiful dresses and gowns for all occasions. She also had a love of music and dancing in her younger years. The church and her faith were the most important part of her life. She spent time most days praying and saying the rosary.
