Winter can be blustery and cold
Often lasting longer then we would like it to.
This too can be said about your grief.
The shock and numbness have worn off
And you find yourself so lonely.
During the winter of your grief
Take time with your grief - don’t try to rush it.
You are making new adjustments day by day.
You recall losses of past, and the healing you have already done.
Don’t let any one steal your grief from you.
When the time is right you will give it up on your own.
So, in the winter of your grief:
Take good care of yourself.
Get plenty of rest.
Find a friend to be with.
Turn to people of wisdom for support.
Get out in the fresh air.
Join a local support group.
Do a memorial project to remember your loved one.
