EVANCIO - Mrs. Anne Evanvio, formerly of Melville and Goodeve entered eternal rest at the Pasqua Hospital in Regina on Tuesday, December 13, 2005 at the age of 86 years.
Anne was born on April 11, 1919 at Goodeve, Saskatchewan, daughter of Fred and Nellie (nee Kozakevich) Stecyk. Anne received her education at Roberts School at Lake Mona. On November 2, 1943 Anne was united in marriage to Alex Evancio at Sacred Heart Ukrainian Catholic Church in Ituna, celebrating their 50th Wedding Anniversary in 1993. The couple farmed in the Goodeve district until 1982 at which time they built a home in Melville and retired. Anne was an active member of St. George's Ukrainian Catholic Church in Melville and took part in helping the parish ladies at different functions at the Parish Hall. She enjoyed gardening, growing flowers, sewing, crocheting and travelling.
Predeceased by her parents; husband Alex in 1996; four brothers: Nick, Matt, Bill and Fred Bohay; five sisters: Myrtle Manovich, Pearl Piluk, Katie Kowalchuk, Rose Samyluik and Marion Harysmuik. Anne leaves to cherish her memory three sons: Ron (Judy) of Brandon MB, Don (Linda) of Regina and Arnold (Rebecca) of Regina; ten grandchildren: Jennifer (Rob Kowalchuk), Ryan, Stephanie (Larry Rauer), Marie (Arnel Roberto), Donald, Donna, Jenny (Trevor Davies), Laurissa, Andrei and Tye. Also one brother: John (Elise) Stecyk of Calgary; and nine great grandchildren: Jacob, Tierra, Rivkah, Adrian, Raphael, Mina, Evan, Courtney and Brynn.
Prayers were held on Friday, December 16th and the funeral service on Saturday, December 17th at Yorkton Memorial Gardens Family Centre with Very Rev. Bryan Bayda, C.Ss.R. of St. Mary's Ukrainian Catholic Church officiating. The responses were led by Ed Pindus, Colette Karapita and parish choir members. Tributes were conveyed by grandchildren, Jennifer, Laurissa and Tye. The cross bearer was Arnel Roberto. The interment followed in the Garden of Crucifixion at Yorkton Memorial Gardens with Ryan Evancio, Adrian Roberto, Jennifer Evancio, Laurissa Evancio, Andrei Dandridge-Evancio and Tye Dandridge-Evancio serving as the casket bearers. Funeral arrangements were in care of Bailey's Funeral Home.
