Mrs. Ethel Esther Fenske of Springside passed away on Wednesday, January 18, 2006 at the Yorkton Regional Health Centre. She was 95 years of age.
Ethel was born on July 14, 1910 in Springside, Saskatchewan; a daughter of James and Amelia (nee Pachal) Sanderson. She grew up on the family farm and attended Good Luck School. Ethel was united in marriage to Alfred Fenske on October 20, 1930 and were blessed with one daughter Audrey. 
During her life Ethel was an avid curler and was involved in the community for many years. She leaves to mourn her passing and to celebrate her life her daughter Audrey of Springside; grandsons: Garnet Badke of Edmonton, AB., Elden (Linda) Badke of Fort St. John, BC; great grandsons: Hunter Alfred Wolfgang and Barrett Otto Tyson Badke; sisters and brothers - in - law: Muriel Sanderson of California, Elsie Fenske of Richmond, BC., Luella and George Richards of Clearbrook, BC., Irene MacDonald of Langley, BC., Eileen and Art Effa of Yorkton, SK., Marlene and Dan Breitkreuz of Springside, SK., Lillian and Stan MacPherson of Abbotsford, BC., and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents; her husband Alfred ( 1988 ) and numerous brothers and sisters. The funeral service was held on Monday afternoon, January 23, 2006 from St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Springside, Sask. with Pastor Mark Maunula and Pastor Kyunghyun Kim officiating. Jeanette Kriger was the organist leading the congregation in the Hymns: 'The Lord's My Shepherd', 'My faith Looks Up To Thee' and 'What A Friend We Have In Jesus'. The interment followed in the Garden of St. Mark Yorkton Memorial Gardens with Vern Effa, Alger Gruber, Mark Gruber, Bob Kriger, Donn Laube and Elvin Riess serving as Casket Bearers.
