LUTZ - Mr. Emil Lutz of Ituna, beloved husband of Nettie Lutz passed away Monday, January 2, 2006 at the Ituna Pioneer Lodge at the age of 77 after a long battle with cancer. Emil was born March 5, 1928 in the Ituna District of Saskatchewan, a son to John and Pauline (Halushka) Lutz. Emil grew up on the family farm and attended school in the Hardrock district. He worked at home on the farm as well as numerous other places.
Emil enjoyed visiting with his grandchildren and touring the town in his car. A visit from family and friends was always welcome.
Emil was united in marriage to Nettie Dmyterko on September 26, 1959 at the Sacred Heart Ukrainian Catholic Church in Ituna. Together they worked on the family farm where they raised four children. In 1993 Emil retired from farming. Emil and his wife moved to Ituna where they resided until he became a short term resident of the Pioneer Lodge.
Predeceased by his father John in 1991, his mother Pauline in 1992, his brother and sister in infancy, brothers-in-law John Flinta and Charles Kobialko.
He leaves to cherish his memory and to celebrate his life his loving wife Nettie of Ituna, two sons Ernie and wife Mavis of Yorkton, Allan and his wife Bev and their sons Jared and Tanner of Yorkton, two daughters Nadine Beatty of Ituna and her son Jared of Yorkton, Jeanette and her husband Brent Kutas and their daughter Brianna of Ituna. He also leaves three sisters: Annie Flinta of Ituna, Helen (John) Serelo of Regina and Stella (John) Stachyshyn of Ituna. Three sisters-in-law, six brothers-in-law, numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Prayers were held on Friday, January 6th at Sacred Heart Ukrainian Catholic Church in Ituna. Requiem Divine Liturgy was celebrated on Saturday, Januray 7th at Sacred Heart Church with Very Rev. Boris Kyba, C.Ss.R. as the Celebrant. The responses were led by Ladmer Moskal. The epistle reader was Mavis Lutz and the cross bearers were grandsons, Jared Beatty and Jared & Tanner Lutz. 'All Wko Knew Emil' were considered honorary bearers. The interment followed in Sacred Heart Parish Cemetery with Jason Dmyterko, Dennis Serelo, Trevor Wenc, Shayne Wenc, Gerald Petrowsky and Eugene Holowatuk serving as the casket bearers. Funeral Arrangements were in care of Bailey's Funeral Home.
