Poem - My First Christmas In Heaven I see the countless Christmas treesaround the world belowWith tiny lights, like Heaven's stars, reflecting on the snow. The sight is so spectacular, I hear the many Christmas songs that people hold so dear But the sounds of music can't compare with the Christmas choir up here. I have no words to tell you, the joy their voices bring, For it is beyond description, to hear the angels sing. I know how much you miss me, I see the pain inside your heart. But I am not so far away, We really aren't apart. So be happy for me, dear ones, You know I hold you dear. And be glad I'm spending Christmas with Jesus Christ this year.
I sent you each a special gift, from my heavenly home above. I sent you each a memory of my undying love. After all, love is a gift more precious than pure gold. It was always most important in the stories Jesus told.
Please love and keep each other, as my Father said to do. For I can't count the blessing or love he has for each of you. So have a Merry Christmas and wipe away that tear. Please wipe away the tear For I am spending Christmas with Jesus Christ this year. Remember, I am spending Christmas with Jesus Christ this year. Author unknown
A Mystery Gift underthe Christmas Tree
My dad died three years ago, but I would like to share a story that happened last Christmas at our house.
Our traditions have changed so much over the last few years. Dad died, mom went to the nursing home, our daughter got married, we are expecting our second grand child before Christmas this year, and our son moved into the family homestead.
We always opened our Christmas gifts on Christmas Eve after we came home from the Christmas Eve service at church. That is about the only tradition that remained the same over the years.
All the gifts were placed under the tree in our living room several days before Christmas. There were many gifts under the tree so no one noticed this mystery gift until we started to open our gifts. Then we noticed there was one gift that had no name on it, and we just handed out all the other gifts and would bypass this one beautifully wrapped gift till all the gifts were handed out.
Who was this last gift for? Who did it come from? As we talked about the gift we all had our own ides about the mystery gift.
Finally we decided that our son would open the gift as he was the one who handed our all the gifts, now we would watch as he opened this gift.
We were taken back by what was in the package. It was a beautiful picture of my parents taken at their 40th Wedding anniversary, a beautiful picture that was taken at the studio about ten years earlier.
There was no name on it, just a note that read, “Merry Christmas to you all. May you find peace in your hearts as you remember all the good memories from by gone years.”
We all had tears in our eyes when we saw the gift and heard what was written on the back. Yes we had the best memories of Christmas’ long ago. We recall times when we were all together with dad and mom.
Now we are the dad and mom, and we have children who are making new memories with us.
Traditions have changed. Times have changed. We still have no idea where the mystery gift came from but it was the most precious gift of the all that Christmas Eve.
If you have any special pictures you could share with your family this Christmas I encourage you to do so.
Pictures are a beautiful legacy to leave behind, and I am sure your family will enjoy reminiscing about the good old times as much as we all did last year.
