My deepest sympathies go out to all of the Herman family. Rodger and I were best friends in Melville and he spoke very highly of his parents. I know he will miss her dearly. I also lost my Mom 45 days ago and I know the hole it leaves in your heart but remember the good memories! May she RIP!

Condolences to all who knew and loved Auntie Mary. Auntie Mary was such a positive person no matter what life threw at her. She always had a smile on her face and was joking around. The one memory that sticks out, is the time when I had a sleep over at the farm. Auntie Mary and I made a puffed wheat cake and when I reminded her she needed cocoa she said it’s not needed and the cake will taste the same without it - and it did. Now when I make puffed wheat cake I think of Auntie Mary and debate if I should add cocoa. Rest in peace Auntie Mary

Our deepest condolences to Mary's family during this time of loss. I have fond memories of telephone conversations between my Mom, Leona and Mary. Mary would say what's new and my mom would say "What do I know, I don't get out much anymore", Mary would reply "Well I get out, but don't see much", then they would share a laugh. Little by little we let go of loss but never the love we have for those that leave this earthly home before us.

I'm one of the many children Mary baby sat. I have many fond memories of being at her farm; playing/helping in the garden, eating her butterhorns and donuts, playing with her homemade playdough. Mary taught me many life lessons though I didn't understand them until I was older. When we moved to Melville, one of the few things I missed was Mary and being out at her farm. I last saw her just before the pandemic. We had a nice chat where I showed her pictures of my niece and nephew. The world lost an amazing and a one of a kind woman. Condolences to her family and I pray for comfort while you navigate this loss.
