Hi , to the family, I am sorry to hear of Steve's passing. I was away on holidays and I didn't hear about it till later. I work at the gateway lodge and Steve. I became friends. He always counted on me to take his equipment to the band that was playing at the North lounge and I was glad to help him take his guitar, and later his amplifier, which he was so proud of. We made tapes for the family, Terry and Bob. I used to call him one Take Steve, he only did it once and it was good. Also I had to feed the bluejays. He always wanted peanuts in his feeder outside his window, even in the middle of winter, so we had to dig a path. In the last 6 months or so, Steve came out to play cards. I didn't know he liked cards that much. He taught us how to play holla, at least me anyway. We had cards on August 2nd and he said he would come, but he just didn't feel up to it when it came time.
Steve liked to grow tomatoes in his window every year. Always made sure they were watered actually too much. I think, and then we moved him outside and he kept wanting me to check on him, never did get his sheep manure, though.
I like Steve a lot and he was in to everything at the lodge. He will be sorely missed.
I hope you rest in peace, Steve. God bless you
