Everett Larson, age 91 years of Yorkton, passed away on April 1, 2026, with his family by his side.

Everett (Dad) was predeceased by his wife Marie, parents, Oscar and Mary Larson; parents in law, Joe and Lydia Bily; brothers: Ralph and Norman; sister Lila; step brothers: George, Bennett, Elmer, Philip and Alan, step sisters; Sevy Jobin and Jenny Wright; son in law Dale Kuhling and granddaughter Rhonda Kuhling Tyacke. Everett is survived by his four children: Sherry Kuhling, Darwin (Brenda) Larson, Jarvis Larson (partner Dawn McBride) and Garth (Darlene) Larson. He is also survived by eight grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren.

Everett (Dad) attended Armstrong School in the Tonkin district and finished off his schooling achieving a grade 6 education from Simpson School. He decided to go and help on the family farm for a few years. Later he helped his brother George in Peace River, Alberta and drove a Caterpillar (bull dozer) and worked in the sawmills. This lasted a while before his return to Saskatchewan. He then helped his brother Bennett on the farm. He met his wife to be as Bennett’s farm was across the fence from where Marie lived and they were dating shortly thereafter. It was July 24, 1954 when the two were married.

Everett (Dad) worked at many jobs during his lifetime. These included installing farm water and sewer for Louis Cropp, working at the IMC Potash Mines of Yarbo and Rocanville sinking shaft, operating an excavating business in hauling sand and gravel, farming land in the Churchbridge and surrounding area, selling vehicles at Yorkton Hyundai, driving city bus, selling hopper bottoms at Taylor Industries, adjusting crops for Municipal Hail Insurance and hauling grain and livestock for Yellowhead Transport Ltd. Because retirement was never in Everett’s (Dad’s) blood, he continued to help his son Darwin and daughter in law Brenda in delivery of grain trucks to farmers throughout Saskatchewan when a sale was made by Darwin to a farmer.

Some of Everett’s (Dad’s) enjoyment(s) during his lifetime were camping, fishing and hunting. He enjoyed drinking coffee at McDonald’s and Grumpy’s restaurant, eating bacon and eggs and visiting with friends. He enjoyed his daily walks at the Gallagher Centre indoor track, outside at Patrick Park and up to the Nursing Home to visit and be with mom, eventually becoming a resident with an adjoining room to hers.

Everett (Dad) always made time to talk with anyone he knew or didn’t know. He treated others in how he wanted to be treated. Anyone who got to know Everett (Dad) in a short time, knew that they had a friend for life. Dad’s bible and family were his two important things during his lifetime right until his end of life. Everett (Dad) was active in many organizations during his life, including serving as board member of the Churchbridge Credit Union, general manager of the Churchbridge Imperials Hockey Club and president of the Heart & Stroke Foundation support group. Everett (Dad) had many enjoyable trips with mom to destinations that included Hawaii, Mexico, Yuma, Las Vegas, Alaska and Maritimes. He enjoyed watching TV shows, curling spiels and spending time with grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Our family would like to thank the Yorkton & District Nursing Home – Country Meadows for the care and kindness towards Everett (Dad) over the past several years. As well, the family would like to advise it was Everett’s wish that everyone he knew would be recognized as a honorary pallbearers. As Everett (Dad) made so many acquaintances that turned into everlasting friendships while he lived up until his passing, our family thanks you all in what you did for Everett (Dad).
