Lawrence (Larry) Keyowski, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on April 5, 2026 surrounded by his family.
Larry was born on April 21, 1946 to Peter and Marie Keyowski. He grew up on the family farm one mile east of Jedburgh. Larry attended school in Jedburgh and Ituna. An avid athlete, Larry excelled in numerous sports, including baseball, curling, and football. After graduation he worked on the family farm, which he would eventually take over from his father.
In June of 1974, Larry married Janice Malinowski, the love of his life. The two would go on to have three children: Jason, Lisa, and Aimee. An active member of his community, Larry was a permanent fixture at the Jedburgh curling rink, and volunteered his time with several service groups, most notably the Willowbrook Lions Club. After many years of farming, Larry accepted a position with the RM of Garry, where he would remain until his retirement.
In 1994 Larry and Janice relocated to Yorkton, where Larry continued his volunteer efforts and was able to attend the sporting and music events he enjoyed so much. Larry had a soft spot for his grandchildren, who would line up for their treats from “Teasing Grandpa” at the end of every visit. Larry faced several health challenges in his later years, but he always approached life with strength and his signature good humor.
Larry is survived by his beloved wife Janice and his children and grandchildren: Jason (Tricia) Keyowski and their children Danica, Jaysa, and Audraya; Lisa (Kevin) Smith and their children Emme and Brylee; and Aimee (Chad) Steininger and their children Nora and Drew.
