Vernon (Vern) Raymond Borys passed away on Saturday, February 1, 2025 at his home surrounded by his family at the Lakeside Manor Care Home in Saltcoats, Saskatchewan, where Vernon was a resident since December, 2012.

Vern was born on July 25, 1944, in Yorkton, Saskatchewan. Vern was the middle child of five and the second oldest son of Metro and Carolina Borys (Aichele). He attended school at the Burke School and the Yorkton Collegiate. After high school, he spent some time working and living in Los Angeles, California with his brother Kenneth. In April 1966, Vern started working at Morris Rod Weeder. He worked shift work in the back shop and finished his career as a purchasing agent in the front office. Vernon spent most of his career at Morris until his M.S. did not allow him to work. In addition to working at Morris, Vernon and his brother Kelvin had a side job repairing roofs and other various construction projects.

Vern was diagnosed with M.S. in his early 30s and lived with the disease until his passing and he never let the M.S. take over his life. Even though he had many ups and downs, his spirit gave him the strength to carry on. He was an inspiration to all who knew him.

Vern enjoyed a great number of passions from camping, fishing, gardening and traveling. One thing was tinkering in his flower garden and being able to look after his yard while his mobility allowed him too. He also enjoyed visiting his sisters, Judy and Joyce in Kelowna with his mother every September and October and one last visit to his brother, Ken, in California, with his mom before his health declined that he was no longer able to travel.

Vern was blessed with two children and four grandchildren, a great grand-son and a great grand-daughter.  When the grandchildren were growing up, he spent as much time as he could with them from watching them play hockey, volleyball; and whatever else they were up too! He was so proud of his family and was always telling everyone about them.

Vernon is predeceased by his parents, Metro and Carolina Borys (Aichele), his brothers, Kenneth and Kelvin, sister, Joyce and sister-in-law, Frances. He will be remembered by his daughter, Carrie-Lisa (Dennis) and son, Jason (Kim) along with his grandchildren: Abbey (Aaron), Brooke-Lyn (Gary), Carter and Tatum, great grand-son, Walter and great grand-daughter Sophia, all from Yorkton. He is also survived by his sister, Judith (Dennis) and sister-in-law, Pat as well as his nieces and nephews: Scott (Angele), Elizabeth, James, Jennifer, Colin (Carrie), Julie, Cory (Stacy) and Kelly as well as great nieces and nephews.

As a resident of Yorkton and the Lakeside Manor Care Home, he will be remembered by many good friends and family.
