




Obituary of Jon Harkness
The family of Jonathan Merle Harkness of Ituna, beloved son of Helen Harkness & the late Keith Harkness sadly announce his passing on Tuesday, February 4th, 2025. Jonathan was 41 years of age.
Jonathan Merle Harkness of Ituna, SK, formerly of Foam Lake, SK passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 4, 2025, at the Pasqua Hospital in Regina, SK.
Jonathan was born to parents Keith & Helen Harkness on September 9, 1983, at the Royal University Hospital in Saskatoon.
He is predeceased by his father, Keith, in 2014.
Jonathan is lovingly remembered by his mother, Helen; his brothers, Keith (Lorrie) and Jeffrey; two nephews; one niece; as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Jon was diagnosed with a serious seizure disorder when he was 18 months old. He participated in the Early Childhood Intervention Program and attended schools in Foam Lake and Ituna.
In the fall of 1999, Jon became a resident of Deer Park Villa in Ituna. He later had successful brain surgery to better control seizures. He enjoyed attending the Deer Park Villa Day Program activities.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the healthcare professionals, educators, caregivers, and advocates who supported Jon throughout his life. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
The Funeral Service was held on Thursday, February 20, 2025 from Sacred Heart Parish Hall, Ituna, Saskatchewan with Crystal Bailey, Certified Celebrant officiating. The attendants were Tanya Meszaros, Jennifer Poissant and Owen Reid. Special music played was, “Abide With Me”, “You’ll Never Walk Alone” and “How Great Thou Art”. The interment followed in the Foam Lake Community Cemetery, Foam Lake, Saskatchewan with Keith Harkness, Jeffrey Harkness, Camden Harkness, Piper Harkness, Boston Harkness, Johnny Oneschuk, Brad Murdock, Charlene Murdock and Jared Davidson serving as casket bearers.
Memorials in memory of Jonathon may be made to Deer Park Villa Inc. as gifts of remembrance.
