Obituary of Rena Marie Pelletier
Rena Marie Pelletier was born to William and Alice Pritchard on July 20th, 1960 in Gladstone, Manitoba. Rena was the middle child of seven, and spent most of her childhood with her parents and siblings in Langenburg, SK until her family relocated to Yorkton.
Rena met the love of her life, Gale, in the summer of 1978. They married on July 31, 1986 in Yorkton, SK and were married for 37 fruitful years. From the start of their relationship to the end, they were inseparable and enjoyed life to the fullest together. The relationship that Gale and Rena shared was admired by many friends and family. They started their family young and had five beautiful girls, whom they loved fiercely and raised gracefully. Their marriage and family values were an inspiration for their daughters to strive for with each of their own husbands and children.
Rena loved her family and friends passionately. Rena fully embraced the sentiment, “we are called to be the hands and feet of Jesus”, following Christ’s example of service and love. She had a servants heart and was the prime example of a Proverbs 31 woman whom fears the Lord, is charitable and provides for her family, manages her household, and is a virtuous and honourable mother and wife.
Rena dedicated her life to being a loving wife and caring mother. Everything Rena did, she did with love for her husband and her children. They leaned on one another throughout their life together and she cared for her daughters with a natural finesse and grace. Together they decided that Rena would be a full-time wife and mother. When Rena’s youngest daughter was three years old, she began her working career.
Rena worked at the Yorkton First Steps Aboriginal Head Start for 27 years and had a significant influence on many pre-school students throughout her time there. Rena’s heart of gold truly made an impact in her career. Up until her passing, several students affectionately called her “Teacher Rena”, even as adults. Her care and attention to the students and her co-workers made her unforgettable and will leave a lasting void. She was blessed to be able to teach her youngest daughter Tyra, and 9 of her 10 grandbabies. Rena loved all of her grandchildren and would do anything for them, they were her world.
Rena gave her life to the Lord in 2019 and faithfully attended church at the Free Pentecost Church under Pastor and Sister Richardson’s Ministry. She was baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ on September 13, 2020. Rena loved the Lord with all her heart and serving others was her God-given ministry. The Bible tells us in John 3:18 - “My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed (action) and in truth”. Whether she was bringing meals and caring for Sister Richardson as her own Mother, cleaning the church, bringing her brother Daniel coffee, or delivering snacks and lunch to her brother-in-law Ricky, Rena continually put the needs of others before her own. She always had her purse filled with Halls for others, and had her fridge stocked with everyone’s favourite drinks or snacks. Her love and kindness truly had no limits.
Rena entered into the presence of Our Lord on March 6, 2025 at the early age of 64.
Rena leaves to mourn her children; Tina (Matthew), Anita (Angus), Tania (Avery), Alyssa (Morgan), Tyra (Jordan). Her grandchildren Tabyn, Aliya, Tessa, Aubree, Lylorraine, Tia, Gracie, Liam, Zoe, Westyn, Mya, and Trudy. Her brothers, James, Daniel (Jennifer), and sister Teresa. Her mother-in-law Mary, sisters-in-law Eleanore (Frank) and Avaline (Rod). Along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, godchildren, weekend daughters Shyann, Journey and Meech, church family, many close friends, and best friend Marianne.
Rena was predeceased by her loving husband Gale and faithful dog Koda, mother Alice, father William, brother David, sisters Lucille and Lucy, nephew Melvin, niece Alice and great nephew Kaiden.
