




Obituary of Nazir Masih
The family of Nazir Masih of Yorkton, beloved husband of Atia and loving father to Naila (Umberto), sadly announce his passing on March 7, 2025. Nazir was 69 years of age.
The Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, March 22 at 11:00 a.m. from the Yorkton Memorial Gardens Family Centre.

The interment will follow in the Garden of Tranquility, Yorkton Memorial Gardens.
Memorial donations may be made to Prairie Harvest Christian Life Centre as gifts of remembrance.
The family of Mr. Nazir Masih, sadly announce his passing on Friday, March 7, 2025. He had been surrounded by his family and friends during his final days on earth at the Yorkton Reginal Health Center, in Yorkton.
Nazir was the eldest child born to Manzoor Masih and Sharifa Bibi in Faisalabad, Pakistan on Feb 13th, 1956. He was 14 years old when left his village and went to Islamabad city to find a job. He ended up working in the Australian Embassy for few years as a housekeeper.
At the age of 19 he married Atia, a year later he moved to Karachi City. He started his own Scrap Business leaving his wife behind in the village. Six months later, Atia and their first daughter Naila joined him in Karachi.
He continued his business with pride and joy. He was very successful in his business. He continued hiring other village young boys to his business, helping them to migrate to Karachi City. He and Atia bought their house, life was well settled. They had 8 children together. Nazir and Atia were married for 45 years.
In 2011, he came to Canada to attend his eldest daughter Naila’s wedding in Toronto. After four months he went back to Pakistan where he continued his business as usual.
Nazir came back to Canada in 2019 and made Yorkton, SK his permanent home. He loved his home on Broadway Street, where he would sit with his dog by the big window and wave to people passing by. He was so happy and content with his life in Canada. He was very appreciative for all the amenities what life provided him. His recent visit to the West Edmonton Mall was a high light of his life. He said, “this felt like Heaven”.
He loved going to TeaPro every day and drinking coffee, greeting customers with his vibrant smile. He had a favorite table, where he sat and enjoyed his afternoon coffee. TeaPro was his pride and joy. He was so proud of Naila’s TeaPro business.
Nazir made a new friend, Amandeep, who visited him every evening and they spent many memorable hours together. Aman would take his picture, and they would make Instagram reels together.
Nazir was predeceased by his parents, Manzoor, Sharifa, and his brother Yousif. He leaves behind his spouse Atia, their children: Naila, Saima, Tahir, Waqas, Aneela, Annie, Rawish and Maira, five sons in law and one daughter in law. He also leaves behind nine grandchildren, four brothers, and three sisters.
