Obituary of June Wagner
WAGNER – The family of June Gladys Wagner (nee Werschler), beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, of Yorkton, sadly announce her passing while in care of the dedicated staff of the Regina General Hospital on March 25, 2025. She was 87 years of age. June was born on June 19, 1937, in Shellmouth, MB, the first born of Frank and Evelyn Werschler. She was raised on a farm near MacNutt, SK, until she met the love of her life, John, in 1955. They were united in marriage in 1956, and purchased a farm near Roblin, MB, where they raised their five children and retired in 1997. They sold the farm and moved to Yorkton to start their well-deserved retirement. June worked in the housekeeping department for many years at the Roblin Hospital, as well as having a very active role in the operation of the farm. Gardening was one of her great passions, always having plenty of fresh vegetables and some of the most stunning flower gardens – both on the farm and in Yorkton. She always enjoyed the company of family and friends with a special place in her heart for her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, who always brought that cherished smile to her face. The almost daily coffees downtown with friends was a very cherished routine that she enjoyed immensely. June was predeceased by her beloved husband John, parents Frank and Evelyn Werschler, sister Geraldine, and numerous sister-in-law’s and brother-in-law’s. She is survived by her children Raymond (Susan) Wagner of Winnipeg, MB, Clarence (Irene) Wagner of Petersfield, MB, Darla (Lex) Langston of Brandon, MB, Larry (Pam) Wagner of Balgonie, SK, and Valerie (Ron) Mihalicz of Regina, SK; grandchildren Jerrod (Emma) Wagner, Kelly (Clare) Wagner, Derek (Tasha) Jory, Kurt (Amanda) Jory, Kimberly (Tracy) Jory, Dayne (Isabella) Wagner, Daylan Wagner, Brooke (Jordan) Rensby, and Braden (Shawna) Mihalicz; great-grandchildren Denver and Mabel Jory, Leah and Connor Mihalicz, Landon Rensby, Iris Jory, and Ash Wagner. She is also survived by her brother Elmer (Connie) and her sister Janet. June will be deeply missed by all, but her spirit and love will remain with us forever. Visitation for family and friends was held on Sunday, March 30, 2025, from the Chapel of Bailey’s Funeral Home, Yorkton. A Family Funeral Service was held from the Chapel of Bailey’s Funeral Home with Crystal Bailey officiating. The interment followed in the Garden of St. Mark, Yorkton Memorial Gardens with Dayne Wagner, Daylan Wagner, Braden Mihalicz, Jordan Rensby, Kelly Wagner, and Jerrod Wagner serving as casket bearers. Memorial donations in memory of June Wagner may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation as gifts of remembrance. Condolences may be left for the family at www.baileysfuneralhome.com.
