Obituary of Gord Kernovich
The family of Gord Kernovich of Yorkton, sadly announce his passing on April 6, 2025. Gord was 74 years of age.
Born on the day of Friday, July 14, 1950, Gordon Michael Kernovich was brought into this world by Elizabeth Kernovich and Mike Kernovich - both are now late parents. Gord had reached 75 years of age upon his passing from cancer.
He was born and raised here in Yorkton, Saskatchewan. Gord has lived in British Columbia, Alberta, and Regina, Saskatchewan.
His occupation was a painter by trade. He spent many years working for Garth’s Painting, then he later took his hand at caretaking an apartment building - 2144 Rose St., Regina, Saskatchewan where he worked until he retired in 2014. This is when he moved back to Yorkton for his final resting place.
Gord has had many hobbies over the years, woodworking and restoring pieces have been big projects. He also taught me all the fine points to painting and to wood working. Fishing and golf were favorites.
He was a very avid collector! Of everything from books, magazines, records, anime figures that would become collectable. Dragons was a big collectable he enjoyed. He also liked cooking but would never stick to the recipe, he always added his own 'tweak' to the recipe to spice it up.
Gordon finally passed to his cancer on Sunday, April 6, 2025. He is predeceased by his brother Edward. Gordon leaves to mourn his sister Irene Kernovich, niece Cheryl Gerrard, nephew Travis Gerrard, niece Michelle Kernovich, nephew Michael Kernovich, great nephew Kerston, great niece Kristine, great niece Kassandra and each of these have children also.
The loss of one who has been such a huge part of life is hard to face but makes us realize how precious the time we have is spent...
A Graveside Service was held on Wednesday, April 16, 2025 from the Garden of St. Mark, Yorkton Memorial Gardens with Crystal Bailey, Certified Celebrant officiating.
