Leon Carlton Jones was a loving husband, caring father, grandfather, and friend.
Leon went to be with Jesus on April 9th, 2025, at the age of 74, with his loving wife, Bonnie by his side.
Leon was born to Cecilia Plante on September 28, 1950, in San Fernando, Trinidad. He was a big healthy baby and a joy to his family. At the age of 11, he accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as his Saviour and Lord. As the dementia progressed over the past three years, he never forgot his love for Jesus.

He immigrated to Canada when he was 19 years of age to be with his two older brothers who resided in Edmonton.
He married Maureen and although they divorced, they were loving parents to three wonderful sons. Sean, Rawlyn, and Clayton. All of Leons sons live in Australia and he missed them very much. But modern technology kept them in touch. Leon always desired to visit his sons in Australia but due to health conditions he wasn’t able.
While living in Edmonton, Leon was employed by Canadian Pacific Railway, Canada Freight Ways, then opened a delivery business and a cleaning business. He then decided to attend Grant McEwan and received a Computer Science and Systems Analysis degree.
He moved to Yellowknife, NWT where he worked as a Systems Analysist for the Government of the NWT.
In 1993 Leon moved to Yorkton. He met and married Bonnie Neudorf, who he lovingly nicknamed “Barney”. April 26th of this year would have been their 31st Anniversary.
Love, laughter and music filled their home. Leon enjoyed playing his guitar and singing with Bonnie. Leading worship was his joy. He spent a lot of time studying the Bible, watching ministry videos, and spending time with family and friends. He enjoyed watching many sports, especially the Toronto Raptors.
Leon spent the last seven years of his career owning his own MicroAge Computer store in Yorkton before retiring in 2017.
Leon moved into the Nursing Home in March of 2022.
He made many friends with the staff and residents.
He enjoyed activities and entertainment and appreciated visits from his family and friends. When Bonnie visited him, he was concerned that she ‘get on the road’ in case a snowstorm hit, even if it happened to be July.
Sincere thanks to the staff at Malinowski house, Dr. Lawale, the ICU Dr.’s and nurses and the second-floor staff of the Yorkton Regional Health Centre who cared for Leon.
Leon was predeceased by his mother, Cecilia Plante, sister Cynthia, and his second wife Gail Westberg. Leon is survived by his loving wife Bonnie, sons Sean (Sasha), Clayton, Rawlyn (Sarah). Granddaughters Ayro, Kenya, Jordan, Aliyah, Kira, Sara and grandson Isaac. Sisters; Shirley, Karen and Jennifer. Brothers; Earle, Allan and David along with many nieces, nephews, and friends.
