On April 22, 2025, Delores Olivia Strutynski had departed from this life at the Lakeside Manor Care Home in Saltcoats, SK after a peaceful Easter weekend. To all who knew her, she was lovingly called ‘Baba’. She was eighty-six years of age. Delores Olivia was born on January 12, 1939, the first child of Roman and Iryna (Irene) Stratulak. She lived her early and formative years in the Kamsack district. These were happy years. She often remarked on how she enjoyed working for the local pharmacy and shop.

On July 30, 1960, she married Emil Joseph and together they had four children, Brent Michael (1961), Donna Marie (1963), Mark Anthony (1964), and Christopher Emil (1970). Emil and Delores lived their first years of marriage together in the towns of Wroxton, Kamsack, and Saltcoats. Delores took great pride in raising her children at home, while Emil worked for the local Co-op. However, in 1964, the young family moved to their new farm and homestead in the Stornoway district. Delores and Emil lived on their farm until they retired in 2018.

In the decades ahead, life on the farm evolved. The family also continued to grow, and before too long, grandchildren and great grandchildren enjoyed visiting Baba frequently. Delores was blessed with many wonderful talents and interests. Her days were filled with gardening, cooking, baking, Ukrainian embroidery, knitting, crocheting, and sewing. She thoroughly prepared for each Ukrainian religious holiday, and she ensured that her grandchildren were immaculately dressed for each and every Ukrainian dance performance. Delores also took part in much community service, assisting and catering at the Wroxton Recreation Centre, volunteering at Sts. Peter & Paul Ukrainian Catholic Church (Wroxton), and much more.

Delores leaves to mourn her passing and to cherish her memory, her husband of almost 65-years, Emil; son, Brent; grandson, Dallas Lechman (wife, JT) and their children Noah, Kaine, and Theoren (TJ); granddaughter, Darnelle Nagy (husband, Reid) and their children Colt and Aleesia; granddaughter, Brooklynn Leppington (husband, Dustin) and their children Ayva and Liam; grandson, Brett; granddaughter, Ashley Clark (husband, Cody) and their children Silas and Seth; granddaughter, Shayla Paradis (husband, Garrett) and their children Kinsley and Hayden; granddaughter, Cierra Reid; granddaughter, Cheyanne Strutynski; sisters, Evelyn Wakefield and Wendy Northcut; brother, Lawrence; son-in-law, James Lechman; daughter-in-law, Lynn Strutynski; and, many sister and brother in-laws, nieces and nephews.

Delores was predeceased by her son, Christopher (1970); daughter, Donna (2018); son, Mark (2020); sister, Sandra Park (2023); parents, Roman (1999) and Iryna (2006) Stratulak; grandparents, Ivan (John) Stratulak (1938) and Frances Stratulak (1958); grandparents, Mykailo Nowitsky (1964) and Mahdalyna Novitska, née Nikoleszen (1979).
