He always addressed you by your name, “Hello Dawn, Hello Dad” etc. to whoever he was talking too. He then would ask you “how’s it going?” And pause to listen to your response and comment back appropriately. Despite the shaky hands, the voices in his head and what ever other symptoms he was enduring he always cared about what others were going through. When he asked you a question he truly wanted to hear your answer.
My strongest memories now and always are of us sitting around the fire pit or in the garage after the work was done or to eat lunch, listening to you talk. You were a wealth of information on almost all topics. Science related mostly. It always seemed you could share that info in such away to make us laugh. You were never judgemental you always saw others point of view.
You taught me a lot like it’s ok to be open and talk about your mental health. It’s something we need to learn more of and be more aware of what others are going through. We don’t ever get to see or know what others deal with everyday.
So deeply missed. Your help on the farm was far more than just needing help. It was our way of keeping you close.Your dad needed you. You were needed and loved so much.
