Obituary of Albert Van Parys
It is with sadness that the family of Albert Van Parys announces his passing on Sunday, May 25, 2025, at the Yorkton and District Nursing Home. Albert was born and raised in Yorkton, Saskatchewan and was 87 years old.
In 1959 he married Angie Lischynski and together they raised two children, Curt and Craig. Albert worked in the tire business, primarily for Parkland Tire in Yorkton. He was actively involved in St. Gerard’s Parish in several ways. Dad was a man of quiet strength, often putting the needs of others ahead of his own. He enjoyed woodworking and loved golf, spending countless hours at Deer Park with Angie and his boys and took great pleasure when he won. Watching both the Toronto Blue Jays and Maple Leafs was his favorite past time. He was a hard-working man and impressed upon his sons the importance of education.
Albert is survived by his children Curt (Bev) Van Parys and Craig Van Parys, grandchildren Johnna and Carter (Kaci) Van Parys, Connor (Devon) Van Parys, Dirk (Drew) Van Parys, and Jenna (Ryan) James, as well as great grandsons Lucas, Marcus, and Harrison. His wife Angie, parents Arthur and Mary Van Parys, and siblings Bill, Allan and Susan Van Parys predeceased him. The family offers thanks and gratitude to Dr. Lawale and to all the staff and caregivers at Melody Manor of the Yorkton and District Nursing Home for their excellent care and compassion.
The Funeral Mass was held, Monday, June 2, 2025, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Gerard’s Parish with burial to follow at the Yorkton Memorial Gardens. Lunch will follow.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association; 1400 – 522 University Avenue; Toronto, Ontario; M5G 2R5; or at diabetes.ca
