




Obituary of Edith Dryburgh
DRYBURGH – The family of Edith Dryburgh of Yorkton, sadly announce her passing on May 29, 2025. She was 96 years of age. Edith Hope Dryburgh (Tante or Edie) was born on November 28, 1928, in East St. Paul, Manitoba along with her twin sister Arlie to their parents Esther (Backlund) and George Dryburgh. While Edith never married, her life was very full with the rest of her family. Edith was a hardworking student and graduated in 1944 from Yorkton Collegiate High School. After graduation she started working at The Hudson’s Bay Company where she remained a dedicated employee for 35+ years. After HBC she joined Sam at Yorkton Broadway Agencies, which was later acquired by LR Future, where she continued to work for several additional years. She had a passion for volunteering. She served on the Board of Directors at Canada Mental Health Association and later she volunteered with the Salvation Army. She loved spending time with her great nieces and nephews, whether it was going for story time at the library, to a park or out for ice cream. She also enjoyed the outdoors, reading, crunching numbers, and selling Avon. She always had time to pause her day to talk with anyone who stopped her to catch up or just needed a friendly ear. Over the many generous years of her life she made many friends, helped many people and touched many lives. Edith was predeceased by her parents, Esther and George, twin nephews in infancy, Garry and Gregory, her twin sister Arlie and brother-in-law Kenneth, her nephew Charles and her niece Sherrin. She leaves to cherish her memory and celebrate her life her nephew, Scott, great nieces, Rebecca (Brad) and Carissa, her great nephews, Charlie (Janel) and Anthony, her great-great nieces and nephews, Kenneth, Jonathan, Olivia, Charlise, Rylan, Kenzie, Jaxson and soon to be baby Johnson born to Charlie & Janel; as well as other numerous family members and friends. A Memorial Service was held on Friday, June 6, 2025, from the Yorkton Memorial Gardens Family Centre with Doreen Day officiating. Scott and Rebecca delivered the tribute. Piper, Fern Katzberg, played the recessional hymn ‘Amazing Grace’. The interment followed in the Yorkton City Cemetery with Scott Johnson serving as urn bearer. Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society of Saskatchewan as gifts of remembrance.
