Obituary of Jean Andrews
Jean Mary Andrews passed away on June 2, 2025 at the age of 91. She grew up in Dubuc, Saskatchewan but spent most of her adult years in Ontario, only returning to Saskatchewan in 2021.
Jean had a keen mind, achieving a Bachelor of Arts degree as a young woman, and followed that with a lifelong love of learning. Her books were her dearest belongings. As she had an unusually quick mind for numbers, it was natural that she would make her career Bookkeeping.
Being single, she was very independent minded. She even built her own home. She had left the busy life in Toronto, to purchase a plot of land on Bear Cave Road near Parry Sound, Ontario, and there she built her house, doing a large part of the construction herself.
She loved her home there, with nature all around her. She loved animals and was very attached to her cats. Her most recent cat, Darling, passed away not long prior to Jean moving into the Yorkton and District Nursing Home.
Jean was predeceased by her parents Philip and Jean Andrews, her sisters Phyllis Wilson and Isabel Andrews and her brother-in-law Tom Wilson.
Fondly remembered by her nieces, Evelyn Andrews, Marjorie Wilson, Muriel Wilson and Edith Lang (Bruce).
Jean was an amazingly intelligent, capable and active woman.
A private family service will be held.
