Thomas Leighton Price
The family of Thomas Leighton Price of Yorkton, Saskatchewan, beloved husband of the late Lorraine Price sadly announces his passing on July 15, 2025. Leighton was 93 years of age.
Leighton now leaves the family in the hands of his three children, Kelly (Yorkton, SK), Darryl (Kimberly, BC) and Karen (Kelowna, BC), six grandchildren, and ten great-grandchildren.
Leighton was born and raised in Yorkton, and although he and Lorraine were fortunate to be able to live in many wonderful communities throughout the prairies, he was happy to return to Yorkton later in life.
Leighton loved camping, fishing, hunting, snowmobiling, ATVing and going for long drives in the countryside. His involvement in the Anglican church and his participation in various community clubs kept him connected to each community he lived in.
And… it must be noted that prior to the development of the internet, Leighton was the family’s sole source of information, as he was an avid reader of history and, to his children’s entertainment, a fountain of trivial knowledge. To his grandchildren, Leighton will always be remembered as the leader of midnight raids on gramma’s baking and, to everyone, for his legendary sense of humour. He was a character who endeared himself to all who met him. His whit was enjoyed by all and stayed with him until his passing.
The family would like to express their appreciation and gratitude to the Canora Gateway Lodge for the compassionate care they provided to Leighton.
His family will miss him dearly but are happy that his faith was strong and that Leighton will now be reunited with Lorraine.
A Funeral Service was held on Saturday, August 23, 2025 at 12:00 p.m. from Holy Trinity Anglican Church, 165 2nd Avenue North, Yorkton, Saskatchewan with Rev. Luanne Hrywkiw officiating.
Interment took place at Yorkton Memorial Gardens, Prairieview Indoor Columbarium.
Memorial donations in memory of Leighton may be made to Holy Trinity Anglican Church, 165 2nd Avenue North, Yorkton, Saskatchewan S3N 1G5 as gifts of remembrance.
Arrangements were entrusted to Bailey’s Funeral and Cremation Care.
