Obituary of Ronald Wayne Redwood
With heavy hearts we share the passing of Ronald Wayne Redwood - Lovingly known to his family and friends as Rocky. He passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of laughter, warmth, and unwavering love. His love for animals was limitless, and his kindness extended to every living being.
Rocky was a cherished father, brother, uncle, grandfather, and great-grandfather, cousin and friend. He had an incredible presence that brought joy to those around him, always ready with a teasing smile and infectious laugh. His deep love for his family and his devotion to the Lord Jesus Christ were cornerstones of his life.
Rocky proudly served in the United States military during the Vietnam War and later represented the Saskatchewan First Nations Veterans Association for many years as the southern representative – a role he carried with pride and honor.
Rocky’s spirit lives on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. He will be dearly missed.
He is predeceased by his parents, Evelyn Buckles (Redwood) and Walter Buckles Sr; his brothers, Allan Redwood and Dennis Buckles; his daughter, Kimberly Redwood; and his son, Edwin “Chubbs” Patrick McGeshik.
He is survived by siblings; Walter (Denise), Jim (Clover), Patricia (Steve), Perry (Amy) and sister-law Kathy, his children; Carrie, Fawn (Joshua), Patrick and Farris. His many nieces and nephews, grandchildren, great grandchildren, family, friends and Brothers in Arms.
The Funeral service will be held on Monday, July 21, 2025 at 11:00a.m. from the Cowessess Community Centre.
The interment will follow in the Cowessess Cemetery.
