Obituary of Sidney Peepeetch
The family of Sidney Peepeetch of Little Bone First Nation, sadly annonce his passing on July 18, 2025. Sidney was 79 years of age.
Through friends, Sidney met Sharon Henry. Together they raised six children. They were married in 1984 and resided on Minoahchuk First Nation. Here he worked alongside the chief as one of the councilors, a position that he was very good at. In his spare time Sidney enjoyed trapping and hunting and helping out friends and family, as he was a skilled laborer and would always lend a helping hand.
Sidney was a good and honest man. His love for his children and especially his grandchildren was unconditional. Even though Sidney and Sharon separated, they still remained close friends and shared the love of their family.
Sidney is predeceased by his parents Alex and Delia, his son Bruce Peepeetch and his sisters Doreen Myron (Peepeetch), Violet Peepeetch, Mary Boehm (Peepeetch), Olive Flamont (Peepeetch), Cecilia Wasacase (Peepeetch), Rosie Peepeetch, Marcelline Peepeetch, Alexandria Pelletier (Peepeetch), Dora Ponakey (Peepeetch), Myrtle Peepeetch and Mary Essenail (Peepeetch) and his step brother Allen James.
Sidney is survived by Sharon Peepeetch, and his children; Sheldon (Crystal) Peepeetch, Alex Peepeetch, Sherman Peepeetch, Ashley Peepeetch Sr. and Cynthia Gordon-Peepeetch, his beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren and numerous extended family and friends.
A special thank you to Sherman for being there for his dad, as well as to Wayne Gordon, Megan Strongquill, Noel Gordon, Sha-newka Peepeetch, Genelle Quewezance and Ashley Jr. for their support and love for their grandfather.
The wake commenced on Sunday, July 20, 2025 from the Chief Little Bone Community Centre, Minoahchak First Nation. The Funeral Service was held on Monday, July 21, 2025 from the Chief Little Bone Community Centre, Minoahchak First Nation with Elders Owen Delorme and Alvin Delorme officiating. The honorary casket bearers were Sunset Peepeetch, Quinton Peepeetch and David Peepeetch. The casket bearers were the Pelletier Boys. A private family interment of cremated remains will be held at Little Bone Cemetery.
