Obituary of Daniel Gordon McKercher
Daniel Gordon McKercher was born July 28, 1956, in Flin Flon, Manitoba. He was the fourth oldest of a family of five brothers and five sisters.
Daniel was raised in Snow Lake, Manitoba where the trees were large and the winters were long. It was a great place to grow up, with sledding in the winter, fishing in the summer, and lots of family around.
Daniel met Bernice in October of 1974, they married in March of 1975 and had their first child (Dusten) in August that same year. (It was a great year.) The family moved to Esterhazy in 1976 to start their new life. Daniel worked for IMC for over forty years. In 1978, they moved to Gerald Saskatchewan, where their second child (Rae) was born in November 1978. They remained in Gerald until the kids graduated from school. Daniel and Bernice then moved to Yorkton, where he commuted to work. Daniel was forced to retire early due to poor health.
Daniel was blessed with two granddaughters, Dylan and Charlie. Family was his life treasure. Daniel and Bernice enjoyed quadding and camping and enjoyed many great holidays with family and friends.
Daniel was predeceased by his parents, Gordon and Mary McKercher, and brother-in-law Bob Sigurdur. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Bernice, son Dusten (Stacey) daughter Rae, granddaughters Dylan and Charlie, siblings Adel (Bob), Hugh (Cookie), Maralyn (Ed), Jean, Brenda, John (Dorinda), Tom, Robert (Linnea), Barb, as well as many nieces and nephews.
