Hi , to the family, I am sorry to hear of Steve's passing. I was away on holidays and I didn't hear about it till later. I work at the gateway lodge and Steve. I became friends. He always counted on me to take his equipment to the band that was playing at the North lounge and I was glad to help him take his guitar, and later his amplifier, which he was so proud of. We made tapes for the family, Terry and Bob. I used to call him one Take Steve, he only did it once and it was good. Also I had to feed the bluejays. He always wanted peanuts in his feeder outside his window, even in the middle of winter, so we had to dig a path. In the last 6 months or so, Steve came out to play cards. I didn't know he liked cards that much. He taught us how to play holla, at least me anyway. We had cards on August 2nd and he said he would come, but he just didn't feel up to it when it came time.
Steve liked to grow tomatoes in his window every year. Always made sure they were watered actually too much. I think, and then we moved him outside and he kept wanting me to check on him, never did get his sheep manure, though.
I like Steve a lot and he was in to everything at the lodge. He will be sorely missed.
I hope you rest in peace, Steve. God bless you
Trent, Recreation worker.

Mr,Ryczak was my teacher in grade 5 and 6.
I still sing some of the songs from music class that Steve sang as he accompanied us with his guitar.
I enjoyed our discussions.I’ll always remember him as my favourite teacher and a true gentleman.
Rest well,Steve.

We only had the pleasure of meeting Steve a few times but the are very memorable.
An entertainer through and through: story telling, hilarious one liners, humerous comments, and of course playing his guitar and violin. Never a dull moment
A great cook, Steve taught us how to make Kapusniak soup
A forager, Steve taught us how to pick Morel mushrooms
A Master angler
One of the funniest and funnest seniors we've ever met.
Steve will be greatly missed but many, but the memories and stories will last forever

We will sure miss you SteveCo!
We called him Steveco — and if you knew him, you know there was no one quite like him.
A kind soul with a sharp sense of humor, Steveco made it a point to check in on everyone here, almost every day.
He genuinely cared — about family, friends, .. even the pets!
He was a great violin player who could bring a room to life with just a few notes. Once we gathered a few people in Teri & Terry's living room here in Parson to play a small concert with Steveco. It was magical and so much fun.
And let’s not forget — he loved the ladies. That twinkle in his eye never faded.
Steveco was funny, thoughtful, and full of life. He left us with music, memories, and more than a few stories we’ll be telling for years to come.
We’ll miss him — but we’re so lucky to have had him.
