Obituary of Hilda Tillman
Hilda Tillman (nee Propp) was born May 7, 1935, and grew up in the Rhein district. On August 12, 1955, she married David Tillman, and the couple settled on a farm near Springside. They were blessed with 5 children. Hilda worked on the farm with her husband and also worked at Mr. Mike’s restaurant in the West Broadway Mall until the restaurant closed. Dave and Hilda moved to Yorkton in 2002 where she resided until her passing. Hilda loved to garden and make preserves to share with her children. She baked almost daily and enjoyed sharing the results with all she knew. Hilda also loved to knit and read. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
Hilda passed away suddenly on August 11, 2025, at the age of 90. She was predeceased by her parents, Conrad and Margaret Propp, her husband David Tillman, and her daughter Sandra Faye.
Hilda leaves to celebrate her life and mourn her passing her children: Garth (Carol) Tillman, Gloria (Bernie) Pfeifer, Don (Lisette) Tillman, Deb (Collin) Banks; grandchildren Karen (Carl), Kristy, Kimberley (Jace), Matthew (Tayler), Jessie (Travis), Cassidy (Chase), Dana (Brandon), Riley (Sammy), Cayla (Zac), Cassie (Matthew); along with 13 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren; brother Richard Propp and numerous nieces and nephews
A Funeral Service was held on Monday August 18th 2025 from Zion Lutheran Church, Yorkton, with Pastor Kai Buck officiating. Hymns included; 'Just As I am, Without One Plea', 'I Know That My Redeemer Lives', and 'Lord Take My Hand and Lead Me' with Verna Liebrecht and Jeanette Kriger serving as Organists.
Interment took place in the Springside Cemetery, Springside Saskatchewan with Riley Tillman serving as Urn Bearer.
Memorial donations may be made to Zion Lutheran Church, 234 Independent Street, Yorkton Saskatchewan S3N 0S5 as gifts of remembrance.
Arrangements were entrusted to Bailey’s Funeral and Cremation Care.
