Obituary of Vicky Ostrowercha

Vicky Ostrowercha passed away on August 13, 2025 at Yorkton, Saskatchewan. She was born in Kamsack, Saskatchewan, the seventh child of Alex and Annie Slywka.

After marriage to John Ostrowercha, she resided in Yorkton. Her career included Parker and Quine, then many years of public service with Human Resources Canada and Saskatchewan Career and Employment Service. Her clients were very important to her and she served them in a professional and caring manner.

 

Vicky and John enjoyed gardening, travelling, visiting with friends, and the company of their pets. Their travels included trips to California, Florida, the Caribbean, Hawaii, and Europe, where they visited Rome and Fatima in Portugal.

 

She also enjoyed doing crafts and will be remembered for the Angels that she created.

 

She was a member of St. Mary’s Church and the UCWL. She had a deep faith in God and was a kind and caring person. Upon retiring, she spent many hours in volunteer work with the Church and the Horticultural Society.

 

Vicky was predeceased by her husband John; her parents; sisters Irene and Mary; and brothers Bill, John, and Steve.

 

Vicky is survived by her sister Nellie Wolkowski (Mike), and sister-in-law Florence Slywka, as well as many nieces and nephews, and special friends.
