Obituary of Irene Nepinak
The family of the late Irene Nepinak sadly annouce her passing on September 3, 2025.
The Wake was held on Tuesday, September 9, 2025, starting at 4:00 p.m. from the Yorkton Christian Fellowship Church, Yorkton, Saskatchewan.
The Funeral Service was held on Thursday, September 11, 2025, from the Yorkton Christian Fellowship Church at 1:00 p.m. with officiants Pastors Rick Flamont and Tommy Strongquill. Eulogist was Senjyah Nepinak, there was A Time For Sharing – All were Welcome. Casket Bearers were Brandon ‘Ducky’ Nepinak, Troy Nepinak, Judge Cote, Jason Taylor Nepinak, Preston Keshane, and Lucas Nepinak. Honourary Casket Bearers were all her children, grand children, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, all her friends, and dialysis staff. Interment took place at the Yorkton City Cemetery.
Irene Christine Nepinak was born on January 6, 1939 to Albert and Margaret Ironstand (nee Shingoose). Mama passed away on September 3, 2025 with her daughter Terrilene and great grand daughter Senjyah by her side.
Irene was predeceased by her parents, her three daughters, several sisters and brothers, grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Irene will be deeply missed by: her daughters Geraldine (Dave) Nepinak of Dauphin, Terrilene Nepinak of Regina, Joan Nepinak of Winnipeg, Velda Nepinak of Winnipeg, her sons Murray and Richard Nepinak of Dauphin, Jason Robert Nepinak of Vancouver, as well as her great grandson Brandon “Ducky” Nepinak (Cally and boys) of Yorkton, great granddaughter Senjyah Nepinak of Yorkton, great grandson Ashton Peepeetch of Regina. Also, sister Liz Razor of Tootinaowaziibeeng. As well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and three special ladies who were always there for Irene, Sandra “Agnes” Fisher, Shirley Pelletier, Elizabeth Wapash, all of Yorkton.
Mama taught school in Dauphin upon getting her teacher’s degree. She taught at Whitmore School for 20 years. Later she moved to Yorkton making her home there. Mama was loved by everyone and had lots of friends. Mama always made time for her great and great great grandchildren. Daily calls to her daughter Terrilene asking how everyone was doing.
Mama will be missed by all who knew her. Mama loved to go to Bingo, then later she gave up on Bingo and dedicated her life to the Lord. Her health slowly took a toll on her being in hospital several times. Calling her daughter to come to Yorkton as she wasn’t feeling the best.
The family takes comfort in knowing that Mama is in Heaven with all her relatives that went on before her.
