Raymond 'Ray' Fuchs

Obituary of Raymond 'Ray' Fuchs

The family of Raymond 'Ray' Fuchs of Grayson, beloved husband of Velma Fuchs, sadly announce his passing on September 5, 2025.

Raymond was born in the Grayson area and grew up on the family farm, where he spent his entire life. As one of eight children, he was raised in the rhythm of farm life where it shaped him into someone who was handy, resourceful, and dependable - qualities he carried throughout his life.

He married Velma Talbot in 1968 where they continued to live on the farm, and together they created a home filled with love, laughter, and lasting memories. He was a devoted father to Trisha (Marc), Heidi (JD), Candice (Jamie), and Sterling (Krista), and a proud grandfather to Jaden, Mackenzie, Rachel, Owen, Haley, Madison, Jackson, Ryder, and Emma.

A farmer through and through, Raymond was hardworking, practical, and never afraid to get his hands dirty. He could strike up a conversation with anyone, anywhere, and was known for being light-hearted, quick to laugh, and never short on a story or some good-natured B.S. He had a way of connecting with people, whether they were old friends or complete strangers.

Along with his wife Velma and their children, Raymond is lovingly remembered by his sisters Evelyn and Mary, and is reunited in spirit with his parents Frank and Pauline; his siblings Walter, Caroline, Bill, Ernie, and Herb; and Velma’s family, Norman, Thora, and Maureen.

He will also be missed by the many friends and neighbors whose lives he touched.

He leaves behind a legacy of love, family, and countless memories that will be cherished forever.

Forever loved, forever missed.

Those we love don’t go away,
They walk beside us every day.
Unseen, unheard, but always near,
Still loved, still missed, and forever dear.
