Obituary of Adeline Wytrykush
John and Adeline lived on Irwin Ave. until they built their second home on Victor Place in 1962-63. John and Adeline hosted many friends and family in their Victor Place home. Their door was always open for a visit. Adeline would always be able to create a plate of dainties on a moment’s notice from carefully packaged baking in the freezer.
Adeline loved playing cards. She enjoyed the time she spent with the 2 Bridge Clubs she belonged to. She was always eager to play a game of cards. She patiently taught her kids and grandkids to play cribbage. A game of cards happened regularly on visits.
John and Adeline were both very active members of St. Mary’s Ukrainian Catholic Church. John was an active member of the Knights of Columbus and Adeline a longstanding UCWL member. The spiritual nurturing of the church community was core to the kind, caring nature of both of them. Caring for people was important to Adeline in which she strived to ensure others were looked after. In 1986, Adeline took a Homecare course while working as a Care Aid for the health region. Adeline retired from her job as a Care Aid in 1997 and then spent her time volunteering.
John passed away in Dec. 2002. Adeline remained in their home on Victor Place until Oct. 2015, when she moved to St. Volodymyr Terrace in Saskatoon. St. Volodymyr was her home until her passing on Sept. 27, 2025.
Adeline was predeceased by her husband, John, her parents, her 11 siblings and several of her brothers and sisters-in-law.
