Obituary of Joanne Ross
The family of Joanne Ross of Yorkton, Saskatchewan, beloved wife of George Ross, sadly announce her passing on October 16, 2025. Joanne was 80 years of age.
Joanne Veronica Reiten, the second of four children, was born in Balcarres, Saskatchewan, to Clarice and Arne Reiten. Joanne married George Ross on September 1, 1962, sharing a life full of love and memories. She was a devoted mother to her three daughters, Debbie, Donna, and Cathy; and loving grandmother to five grandchildren, Chris, Ashley, Jordan, Rylan, and Brady; and three great-grandchildren, Sawyer, Olivia, and Emmett.
Joanne had a creative and loving spirit. She was a talented baker, always filling her home with the comforting aroma of cinnamon rolls, a favorite treat of George. She crafted beautiful jewelry and dreamcatchers, and surrounded herself with the delicate beauty of hummingbirds and African violets. A passionate golfer, she celebrated a proud hole-in-one in 2006.
Joanne also loved the outdoors. Camping and fishing brought her great joy, and she often fondly recalled the time she cleaned 300 fish on a single trip - a memory that always made her smile.
She will be remembered for her warmth, her laughter, and the love she shared with her family and friends. Joanne's life was full of creativity, joy, and the simple pleasures that brought her happiness, leaving behind a legacy of cherished memories for all who knew her.
The Memorial Service was held on Wednesday, October 22, at 2:00 p.m. from Yorkton Memorial Gardens Family Centre. Memorial donations in memory of Joanne may be made to the Salvation Army or any Saskatchewan library.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Bailey’s Funeral Home, Yorkton.
