Obituary of Marley Potzus

POTZUS – It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Marley Lynn Potzus, a beloved daughter, a big sister, a granddaughter, a niece, a cousin and friend, and a girlfriend. She is our beloved who left us far too soon at 25 years of age. Marley will be deeply missed by her mother, Glenna, and her sister, Mikayla, who shared countless cherished moments together as the “three musketeers.” She is also survived by her grandmother, Glady Potzus (Norm) of Kelowna; her aunts Denise (Dale) Loucks of Good Spirit Lake and Lorraine Penfound of Kelowna; her uncle Linton Potzus of Yorkton; cousins Arthur and Matthew Loucks, Reid, Carson, and Sydney Penfound, and Carter and Liam Potzus. Marley’s boyfriend Dalton Norek and his family—Dallas, Audra, Chloe, Claire, and Abbey, as well as grandpa Giles and grandma Carol—also hold her memory close. Also mourning her loss is Seth Kosedy who played an instrumental part in her early years. His family, Carol, Kyle, Cimarron, Stacey, Sammy and Mitchell. Marley was cherished by her friends, notably Amber from Yorkton Regional High School and later meeting Kennedy at Briercrest while playing basketball on scholarship. She enjoyed playing soccer and basketball. After Briercrest she pursued studies in massage therapy and acupuncture in Ottawa. Marley also had a love for dogs. Her loyal spaniels, Bruno and Cruz, were always by her side. Marley had a zest for life and a loving spirit. She treasured time spent with her family—whether watching movies, playing golf, taking country drives, enjoying foodie adventures, cooking at home, or vacationing in Kelowna and Arizona. Her bright spirit, laughter, and love left an indelible mark on all who knew her. Though her passing was unexpected, Marley’s memory will continue to inspire and comfort those who loved her. The family wishes to sincerely thank everyone who has offered condolences, prayers, personal visits, phone calls, texts, flowers, and food. Your love, blessings, and kindness have provided comfort during this profoundly difficult time, and we are deeply grateful for your support. The Funeral Service was held on Friday, October 24, 2025, from the Yorkton Memorial Gardens Family Centre with Pastor Dalton Fichtner of Moose Jaw Church of God officiating. Lorraine Penfound and Syndey Penfound delivered the eulogy. The interment followed in the Garden of St. Mark, Yorkton Memorial Gardens with Glenna Potzus and Mikayla Kosedy serving as urn bearers. Donations in memory of Marley Potzus may be made to the Yorkton SPCA as gifts of remembrance. Messages of condolence may be left for the family at www.baileysfuneralhome.com.
