Obituary of Garry Hamilton

Lloyd “Garry” Hamilton, of Yorkton, SK, formerly of Vernon, BC, beloved husband of Gerri Hamilton, announce his peaceful passing with his family by his side on December 15, 2025. He was 83 years of age.

Garry was born in Hardisty, Alberta on January 18, 1942.  He grew up in Unity, Saskatchewan.  At the age of 18 he joined the R.C.M.P. and trained in Regina at Depot.  His first station was Prince Rupert where he met the love of his life, Geraldine Wilkins.  He was transferred every few years to several places across Canada from Victoria, British Columbia to Whitehorse, Yukon and Corner Brook, Newfoundland, to Yorkton, Saskatchewan.

Garry was an avid curler and golfer over the years.  He loved to watch sports on TV, especially curling and the Blue Jays. Garry was also a dedicated Legion member of 46 years.

Garry is survived by his wife Gerri, son Doug (Caroline) and daughter Karen (Ron), three grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

Memorial donations in memory of Garry Hamilton may be made to the Vernon or Yorkton branches of the Royal Canadian Legion as gifts of remembrance.

A Celebration of Garry’s Life will take place in Yorkton in June of 2026.
