Today, we honor a woman whose love shaped us in ways words can barely capture—a grandmother whose presence felt like home: warm, steady, and endlessly giving. She lived with a quiet strength, offering wisdom not through grand speeches, but through the way she cared, the way she listened, and the way she loved without conditions.
Aling Pacing/Nanay Pacing—Pacita Puerto—was born in Gerona, Tarlac, Philippines, on August 18, 1941. Daughter of Victorina and Sirapio Puerto. She was raised on a farm by her father and stepmother, alongside her six siblings: Emerenciana, Saturnino, Diosdado, Tersing, and Lydia. As she grew older, she took on many responsibilities, helping her parents provide for her two younger sisters.
She later moved to Cainta Rizal, Philippines, where she helped Carlito and Cristina Diaz raise their two children. She wholeheartedly committed herself in staying with the Diaz family as they grew, caring for all four children as her own—Listy, Leechelle, Lee-Ann, and John.
Nanay Pacing chose to remain single and devoted her entire life to the Diaz family. When most of the children migrated to Canada, Nanay Pacing decided to be with her family despite a huge transition. In God’s grace she was approved and granted permission to visit Canada as a tourist, reunited with the children she had lovingly raised on November 17, 2023 until her last breath.
Fulfilling her final wish, she passed away peacefully, surrounded by her beloved family in their home.
Arrangements were entrusted to Bailey’s Funeral and Cremation Care.
