Obituary of Nikolaus Kent
The family and friends of Nikolaus Kent, born Carson Rode, of Yorkton, formerly of Roblin Manitoba, sadly announce his passing on January 20, 2026. Nikolaus was 52 years of age.
Nik Kent aka Carson Rode was born in Moose Jaw in 1973. He was the first child born to Alice and Melvyrn Rode. They lived in Tugaski, Saskatchewan until 1976 when Alice and Mel purchased a farm in the Roblin area. Nik attended school in Roblin. He lived in several places in Manitoba before moving to British Columbia where he worked for the provincial government in several departments. Nik moved back to Yorkton in 2017 to look after his aging parents.
Nik was predeceased by his niece Harper Mitchel of Hudson Bay, as well as several aunties and uncles. He is survived by his parents Melvyrn and Alice Rode of Yorkton; brother Neil Rode (Jen) of Roblin and their children: Jesse (Elise) Suidak their children Jett, Myla of Roblin; Brittney Rode and children Zemria, Harlow, and Dominic of Hudson Bay, Saskatchewan; Nathan Cockerill (Courtney) of Roblin; Bryce Rode (Mikayla) of Regina; Tristan Lux (aka Jeffrey Cockerill) of Calgary; Brooke (John) Shukin of Yorkton; Racheal Rode (Justin) of Regina; Aunts Donna, and Ivy; and numerous cousins.
Donations in Nik’s memory may be made to the Canadian Mental Health Association.
A private family interment will take place at a later date.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Bailey’s Funeral and Cremation Care.
