Obituary of Brent Perepeluk
Brent was born on September 22, 1961 in Norquay to Metro and Natalie (Drushka) Perepeluk. Brent grew up on the farm north of Norquay, attended Norquay Elementary school and Norquay High School. He loved the farm life, but chose a career operating large equipment. He and his daughter Natalie moved to La Ronge where he was a supervisor in a logging mill for several years. Due to an accident, he came home and remained on the farm until he later moved to Kamsack and then to Yorkton, where he remained until his passing.
Growing up, Brent had many passions. He loved to hunt big game, and was quite a good marksman. As he was a member of the Norquay Fish and Game League, he would search out game with large antlers. He hoped to find something typical that would measure extremely well, hoping for the trophies. Unbeknownst to many, he was quite competitive. Hunting game, wasn’t the only sport where the trophy was the “end all and be all”. He had quite the collection of fish trophies as well. He was always excited when he would go fishing with his dad and sister, cousin Marty, or other family and friends, and snag a “big prize winner” in McBride, Pee Paw or Saginas lake.
Aside from competing for game and fish trophies, he strived to add snowmobile racing to his collection. He was so excited when he got a Yamaha Phazer, a machine with lots of zip and power. His competitive nature served him well as he did add trophies with a small gold snowmobile on the top, to his collection.
Brent was blessed with great intelligence, especially when it came to mechanics. He could diagnose and fix any vehicle, farm machinery, or large equipment quicker than most. Brent’s working career was cut short due to an accident, which was difficult for him. Operating equipment wasn’t just a job for him, but a passion.
Growing up, Brent and his sister Brenda would play board games and the card game “Hola”, to pass the cold winter days away. Curling was something he also loved and would attend all the small bonspiels around Norquay.
There was another side of Brent many had the opportunity to witness. He had a very large and soft heart. He would offer to help anyone who needed help. He was kind and generous in many ways.
One of the greatest moments for Brent was the birth of his daughter Natalie. He was so proud of his little girl. With her and as with his nieces and nephew, he always had a lot of patience for the little ones and cherished the moments he had with them.
Brent will always be remembered for his kind heart, intelligence, wit and sense of humor.
He leaves to mourn his daughter Natalie Lund, grandson, Knud Lund, sister Brenda Pasloski (Ron Froehlich), nieces Steeven Leibrecht, Jordan Corbett, and nephew Issac Pasloski, as well as many great nephews; an uncle (Paul Perepeluk); as well as numerous cousins, relatives and friends.
He is predeceased by his parents Metro and Natalie Perepeluk, sister Gloria, grandson Rueben, nephew Tyler, grandparents Mike and Mary Perepeluk and many other family members.
