Olga Eileen Mosiman was born in Rossburn, Manitoba on May 9, 1948. Growing up on the farm, Olga knew what hard work was. As a young woman she left the farm to see what the world had to offer.

Olga’s first stop was in British Columbia; it didn’t take long for her to know she didn’t like the mountains. Next stop was Esterhazy, Sask. where she started work at The Galaxy as a waitress for Ming. When Ming opened his restaurant in Bredenbury, Olga was sent there to keep everything running smoothly. It didn’t take long for Olga to know Bredenbury was going to be her forever home. Olga met a young man who she called Sammy, they were married June 28, 1969. Another job she had was working in the town office, when her cousin Lloyd decided to sell, Olga was prepared to buy him out, and Mosiman Agencies was born. Olga worked as the town’s administrator, she sold insurance, did books for people and had her restate license.

Olga had away of making everyone that walked into her office feel welcome, she greeted you with a smile and a how can I help you. She assisted new families moving into Bredenbury, she helped her community “Bredenbury” grow, anyway she could. There wasn’t a baby born that didn’t receive a baby gift from Olga and Sam. A bridal shower or wedding gift, Olga made sure the perfect gift was picked out for the special couple. Every organization in town knew Olga would donate to their raffles, purchase and sell tickets for them. Remember the Cougar Hockey Team’s mascot called “Sammy”.

Families that were experiencing hardship a cake, cookies, loaf of her famous bread or a full meal would be sent to their homes. Some of Olga’s acts of kindness included arranging for grass to be cut for those in the hospital, visiting a house bond neighbour, making sure cats and dogs in town were well looked after. Olga’s door was always open to whoever wanted to stop by for coffee or just a visit. Many memories were made around Olga’s kitchen table.

Olga and Sam built a successful grain and cattle farm. The cattle were very important to Olga, each cow and calf were named. A spread sheet was kept with the animals’ ear tag number and what their name was. Together Olga and Sam travelled many country roads to find or pick up that perfect piece of farm equipment or vehicle. They were always meeting people on these outings. Oh, the stories they would share when they got home.

Since 2014, Olga has experienced health issues that made it hard for her. She suffered many hours in silence and had many hospital stays. Her friends were with her and supported her in so many ways. Sam often said, “Not many people have had to go through what Olga has.”

We remember Olga for her strength, her kindness, and her love for animals. She had the biggest heart. Olga your life’s work is done, you are at peace, rest easy.

Olga is survived by her beloved husband Sam.
