Obituary of Vern Demitor

The family of Vernon "Vern" Demitor of Melville, sadly announce his passing on Friday, February 20, 2026.  He was 69 years of age.

A family run Celebration of Life to be determined.

Vernon Louis Demitor was born April 2nd, 1956 in Fenwood, Sk. He was raised on the farm, and was the baby of six siblings.

He leaves behind a legacy of kindness, big-hearted nature, rarely seen without a big smile on his face. His big bear hugs made everyone feel so loved, and all friends were treated as family.

After a brave battle with cancer, Vern succumbed to the illness on February 20th, 2026.

Vern will be deeply missed by everyone who knew him. He leaves behind two brothers, Howard (Geraldine) and Reg (Judy), two sisters Eileen (Benny) and Shirley (Ken), his beloved children Jeff (Trina), Jamie (Rudolph), Clayton (Joelle), Jason (Desiree), The Apples of his eye, his grandchildren Jesse, Hannah (Dakota), Jaxson, Joel, Theron, Beckett, and Bay. His sister-in-laws, many nieces, nephews, and family members. His iron working family, and many dear friends.

He was reunited in the eternal world with his parents Edna and Louis, his Brother Donald, and his nephew Miles where he would, no doubt be going fishing. Vern’s memory will live on with the many stories told by all who loved him. You’re now Our spirit in the sky Vern.
