Obituary of Dorothy Bulitz

On March 18, 2026 our Mom, Grandma, and Great Grandma Dorothy Anne Bulitz (Allen), passed away peacefully surrounded by family warmth after a long journey with Alzheimer’s disease. Mom was born in Regina to Muriel and Henry Allen on Sept 28, 1941.  She grew up alongside her siblings Wayne (Moira) and Sylvia (Gary) in Regina.

Mom’s life will continue to be celebrated by her daughter Brenda (Danny Pasishnik) and son Terry Bulitz (Deb).  With the arrival of her five grandchildren and two Great Grandchildren, Kelsey & Keith, Kaitlin & Mike (Lily & Brooks), Drew & Larissa, Ally, and Jade & Jayden she became not only Grandma but also Tootie. She showered all the kids with endless hugs, kisses, and spoiled them silly.  Preplanned sleep overs with the grand babies and grand dogs were always a hit. She was so proud of them all and created a bond that will be remembered forever.

Mom left home at 18 to become a gymnastics and synchronized swimming instructor in Moose Jaw.  This is where she met Dad. Eventually they married in Moose Jaw on August 25, 1962 and made Moose Jaw home for a few years while their children arrived. In 1966, alongside Dad, Mom packed up the kids and moved to Yorkton supporting their takeover of Bulitz Electric among other business ventures.

Mom took great pride and pleasure raising her children Brenda and Terry, sewing Halloween and dance costumes, attending events, camping and family celebrations while being the family homemaker and cheerleader.  She always enjoyed being a community volunteer in a number of capacities. Eventually, Mom went back to school and achieved an administrative assistant diploma which enabled her to have a rewarding career in Accounts Payable at Yorkton & District Home Care, eventually retiring in 2002.

Mom always took great pleasure in her hobby of keeping her kids and grandkids in trendy clothes and household items that she would find along her daily travels to many Yorkton stores.  She loved helping us redecorate, landscape or try new recipes and loved to share our successes together.  Always the BEST cheerleader.

She loved red and black licorice, Diet Coke, popcorn, the occasional cold beer or glass of white wine served in a fancy glass as it made the drink taste better.

Dad passed in 2022 leaving Mom behind. But anyone that knew Dad would know that he was waiting with a smoke and a cold beer in his hand for her, only to ask “what the Hell took you so long Dorothy?” After 60 years of marriage, they will finally be united for eternity.

A Celebration of Life will occur at a later date as per Dorothy’s wishes. Memorials may be made to the Yorkton & District Nursing Home Activities Department.
