Elizabeth Ann Wapash (nee Nepinak) passed away on April 11, 2026 at the age of 70.

Elizabeth through her life was known by many names:  wife, mother, daughter grandmother, auntie and ‘old yeller’ (Uncle Robert gave her that name, LOL).

In her younger years she worked many jobs including cashier, cook, and family support worker.  She always made things work in whatever role she held.  Her final job was as an addiction counsellor at the Saulteaux Healing and Wellness Centre.  She loved nothing more than helping her clients and seeing them succeed.  She was so loved by everyone.

Elizabeth was a great matriarch to our family as well as to her brothers and sisters. She loved going to visit family at Pine Creek.

Elizabeth was a beautiful loving person, who cared for everyone she met.  She was a great woman of faith who loved Jesus with her whole heart.   Her faith never wavered in spite of her medical condition.  While in hospital she continued to pray for her family and for other people.

Left to mourn her passing are her children Dennis, Jr, Liza (Mervin), Shannon, Greg (Alison) and Denise (Rob); her grandchildren Kyler, Dylan, DJ, Dennisa, Matthew, Liam, Joey, Celeste, Christina, Allison, Eve, Glori-Love, Ambrose Jr, Abbie, Hunter, Sophia and Lucas; great-grandchildren Claire, Chanelle, Jace, Sienna, Lyndaya, and Leo; brothers Tommy (Inez), Leslie (Natalie) Sandy (Lucienne), Harvin, sisters Sandra (Bernie), Shirley, De-Anna (Ruben), Annie, Marie (John).

Ellizabeth was predeceased by her dear husband Dennis Wapash, her parents Felix Nepinak, Mary Jane and Tommy Strongquill, grandparents Joe and Jane Cathgas, brother Robert Strongquill, Camille Nepinak and Marie Chartrand sisters Norma Strongquill and Vivian Gaouette.

We think Jesus took in her this moment but He gave us more and more time with her.  Our time with her was just as it should have been.  All Glory to God.

Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die and whoever lives by believing in me will never die. Do you believe this?”

“Yes, Lord,” she replied, “I believe that you are the Messiah, the Son of God, who is to come into the world.”
