Obituary of Darryl Engel

On April 9, 2026, at the age of 66, Darryl Engel passed away, leaving behind family and friends who will miss him deeply.

He was known for his generosity, kindness, and willingness to help anyone in need. Whether fixing something that was broken or lending a hand, he was someone people could always count on.

His career included time in the fiberglass industry, tradesman, salesman at Denson’s, volunteer fireman & handyman.

He enjoyed restoring cars, woodworking, and spending time outdoors hunting and fishing with friends. His warm presence and unmistakable laugh will be deeply missed.

Darryl was predeceased by his parents, Alfred and Viola Engel, and his brothers Dennis, Brian, and Roy. He is lovingly remembered by his surviving brothers Robert (Shirley), Bruce (Lorna), Greg, sister-in-law Sonia Engel; his nieces Kim (Ryan) and Karri (Rob); and his great-nieces and great-nephew Brooklyn, Mackenzie, Sarah, and Berkley.

A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, April 17, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. from the Lions Hall, Rhein, Saskatchewan. The interment will follow in the Christ Lutheran Cemetery, Rhein.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to your local fire department or the Cancer Foundation of Saskatchewan in his honour.
