Obituary of Margaret Anne Volman
The Family of Mrs. Margaret Volman of Lestock Integrated Health Centre, formerly of the Leross district, wife of the Late John Volman passed away on Friday, May 1, 2026. Margaret was 93 years of age.
Margaret was predeceased by her husband John (1992), her parents Mike and Helen Wanzo, her brothers and sisters; John (Margaret) Wanzo, Mary (George) Hodgins, Mike (Theresa) Wanzo, Elizabeth (Elmer) Beres, Bill (Helen) Wonzo, Helen (Bob) Hoyle, Joe (Nellie) Wanzo, and Irene Clarke and her in laws; Steve Volman, Joe Volman, Alex (Helen) Volman, Magdelene (John) Sekel, Rosa Seglie, George Volman, Adam Volman, Andrew Volman, Michael Volman and Margaret Volman.
Margaret Annie Wanzo was born on October 22, 1932 in the Lestock district of Saskatchewan to Michael and Helen (nee Toth) Wanzo. She was one of nine children and grew up on the farm north of Lestock. Margaret attended Lestock School. In 1949 she married John Volman and their first home was on a farm south of Lestock where they had two children, Donald and Linda. In 1956, the family moved into Lestock, where Margaret worked in the Kitchen at the Lestock Hospital and also at Nick Kunits’ Café, in 1964 the family moved to the farm one mile north of Leross. After John passed away, Margaret remained on the farm, and managed to keep very busy! She loved to cook and baking and many people were lucky recipients of her delicious baking. Margaret also enjoyed gardening, taking pictures, playing bingo. Travelling, playing cards, music and dancing and watching curling. She was a spare bus driver for many years and very active member of Leross and Lestock Senior’s Clubs.
Margaret is survived by her son Don (Kathy) Volman, daughter Linda (Philip) Buczulak. Grandchildren Collin, Cameron (Kim) and Candace Volman; Aaron Buczulak, Pamela Buczulak, Amanda (Curt) Warnar, and Crystal Buczulak. Great grandchildren; Mikey and Kaitlyn Volman, Jorja and Summer Volman, Blake Buczulak, Madyson Newman, Eva and Cobie Warnar. Margaret is also survived by her brother in law Alred Volman as well as numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
A Funeral Mass was celebrated on Tuesday, May 12, 2026, from Mary Queen of All Hearts Roman Catholic Church in Lestock. The interment followed in the Mary Queen of All Heart Parish Cemetery. Memorial Donations in memory of Margaret may be made to the Alzheimers Society or to the Mary Queen of All Heart Parish Cemetery fund. Arrangements were entrusted to Bailey's Funeral Home, Ituna.
