Obituary of Judith (Judy) Hildebrandt
The special friends of Judith (Judy) Hildebrandt of Yorkton, and formerly of the MacNutt district, wife of the late Glenn Hildebrandt, sadly announce her passing on May 14, 2026.
Judith Eleanor (nee Dietrich) Hildebrandt was born July 24, 1948, at the Russell General Hospital, Russell, MB., daughter of George and Ena Dietrich.
Judy attended a 1-room school of approximately 30 students grades 1-8 in Dropmore. Judy and her 2 older siblings actually walked to and from school 2 miles each way for many years. She attended Goose Lake Collegiate, Roblin, MB. to complete grades 9-12. Judy was a gifted child academically, skipping grades 2 and 4, thus completing high school at the age of 16, while attaining the highest average in grades 11 and 12.
Judy then moved to Winnipeg where she was employed for several years as office assistant in insurance. In 1967, she moved to Regina, SK. working for CP Rail as a private secretary in the now Casino building.
In 1969 she married Glenn Hildebrandt with whom they had 3 sons, Jason, Robin and Darian. They operated a mixed grain/livestock farm until 2000, at which time they sold the farm and moved to Rokeby.
Judy was very active in the church, teaching Sunday School, assisting with acolyting, confirmation youth group and various other activities. She also loved sports, coaching and driving to tournaments across SK. parts of MB and Alberta. She also participated in various sports herself, as well as volunteering for many community activities.
Judy loved nature, gardening and all outdoor activities. In addition to her farm duties, she was employed outside the home when her children were older. She was an avid traveller, visiting every province in Canada and most of the USA, plus the Caribbean and Middle East, Ireland, Guyana, Netherlands, Greece, UAE, Oman, Belgium, Africa, Saint Maarten, Costa Rica, Portugal, Spain, North Cape, Bearing Sea to name a few.
Judy was predeceased by her husband Glenn in 2009, and her beloved son Robin in May, 2023. She leaves to mourn her 2 other sons plus numerous nieces, nephews, other family members and all her friends.
The Funeral Service was held on Tuesday, May 19, 2026 from Zion Lutheran Church, Yorkton, Saskatchewan with Pastor Kai Buck officiating. The organist was Verna Liebrecht. The eulogy was delivered by Clarinda Hudema. The interment followed in Christ Lutheran Cemetery, MacNutt, Saskatchewan with Clarinda Hudema and Phoebe Buckle serving as urn bearers.
Memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society as gifts of remembrance.
