Obituary of Darcy Hubic

The family of Darcy Hubic of Yorkton, sadly announce his passing on June 4, 2026. Darcy was 64 years of age.

A Family Graveside Service is being planned for early summer 2026.

Arrangements are entrusted to Bailey Funeral and Cremation Care.

Darcy Brent Hubic passed away peacefully June 4, 2026 after a lengthy stay at the Yorkton Regional Health Centre.

Darcy was born August 11,1961 at the Canora Hospital to Orest & Alicia Hubic.  He attended Kindergarten and Grades 1-3 in Regina until the move back to the farm north of Pelly.  He attended grades 4-12 at the Fort Livingstone School in Pelly.

After high school Darcy worked underground at Uranium City for 8 months, at Uncle Ron's Esso Service Station in Regina, and also the Traffic Division for the City of Regina. He then decided to get serious about more education.  He completed the 2-year Criminalogy program at Mount Royal College in Calgary in 1998 and then completed & received his Human Justice Degree in 2002. He was employed with both the Regina Correctional Centre and Paul Dojack Centre for a few years.

In 2006 he sold his house in Regina.  Travel took him to Hawaii, Australia and also New Zealand where he bravely bungie jumped. Then on to Asia where he taught university students Oral English in various places in China and Thailand.  He spent his holidays in Thailand where he met his love, Kat.  Since then, he has been traveling from his home in Yorkton to Thailand regularly.

Darcy liked all sports.  He pitched fastball for many years until his back surgeries ended all sports activities.  He enjoyed keeping NHL stats.  He always liked sports cars.  Darcy was an avid reader. He patronized the library regularly and always had a book on the go.  He enjoyed playing pool when out with friends. At home he was competitive playing scrabble with his mom and playing cards (Rook) with his dad.

To mourn his passing is his partner Kat and her two children in Thailand.  Darcy will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed by his parents Orest & Alicia Hubic.  Also to mourn his passing is Aunt Alice Hubic, Aunt Minnie Raddysh, Uncle Ron (Dorothy) Hubic, Uncle Dan (Phyllis) Hubic, Uncle Mervin (Kay) Hubic, Aunt Shirley Major, Aunt Sandy Boychuk, and many cousins.

Darcy was predeceased by his grandparents Alex & Rose Hubic, and Stephen & Mary Boychuk.
