Obituary of Cecil Krywulak

The family of Cecil Krywulak of Ituna, beloved husband of Leona Krywulak sadly announces his passing on July 13, 2026.

The Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated on Monday, July 20 at 10:00 a.m. from Sacred Heart Ukrainian Catholic Church, Ituna.

A private interment will follow in the Sacred Heart Parish Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made to Sacred Heart Ukrainian Catholic Church or to Kinsmen Telemiracle as gifts of remembrance.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Bailey's Funeral and Cremation Care, Yorkton.

His was a life well-lived and blessed!

Our hearts are filled with incredible sadness as we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved Cec on July 13, 2026 at the age of 87 years. A wonderful husband, dad, grandfather, son, brother, and friend. He was predeceased by his parents Nick and Victoria Krywulak.  He is lovingly remembered by his devoted wife, Leona, of 64 years; children Kelly, Kerry (Dale), Kim (Doug), and grandchildren Megan, Dylan (Erin), Rachel (Trevor), and Nicholas (Nicole) and is also survived by his sister, Leona and brother, Russell (Delores) as well as numerous extended family.

Cec was born and raised on a farm north of Ituna in the Beckenham District. After high school, he attended the University of Saskatchewan to pursue his dream of becoming a teacher. He returned to Ituna where he taught for 33 years and later served as school principal  until his retirement in 1994.  Always regarded as kind and fair, Cec was respected and well-liked by both colleagues and students.

Faith, church, family, and community were always very important to him.  Cec had a strong prayer life, attended Mass regularly, sang in the Sacred Heart Parish choir, and served on numerous church committees.

He was extremely honored to join the Knights of Columbus organization in 1962.  He served in various executive positions and was proud of becoming a Fourth Degree Knight.    

Leona and his three girls were certainly the joy of his life!  His love for them was always constant, quiet, and steady. Leading by example, he instilled the values of hard work, honesty, and kindness to his family. He provided for them, created a safe and happy home, and was always there to encourage and support his daughters in all their chosen endeavours.  Cec was their biggest fan!  That love would quickly spread to his four beautiful grandchildren.  Road trips with Leona to babysit, attend baptisms, confirmations, convocations, and weddings, or to just spend time with them was deeply special. Forever we will cherish his wisdom, warmth, and gentle nature.

Cec called Ituna home. It was the place where he grew up, worked, raised his family, and enjoyed his retirement years.  He volunteered on several committees and served on town council with the strong belief that with hard work and community spirit, Ituna would continue to be a thriving, welcoming place for others to live.

The simple life was what Cec loved the most.  Whether it was spending an afternoon with his golf buddies, tending his beautiful yard, enjoying summer days sitting in the gazebo with family or friends, or watching a good old Rider game on tv, he was content. But he was happiest with his lovely Leona by his side. Without a doubt, they were the perfect team.

To those who knew and loved Cec, he will always be remembered as the perfect gentleman.
