The family and friends of Ray Sedley of Yorkton, beloved husband of Jackie, sadly announce his passing on July 13, 2026. Ray was 77 years of age.
A Celebration of Ray's Life will be held on Saturday August 15, 2026, at 10:00 a.m., from St. Andrew’s United Church, Yorkton, with Reverend Jen Dresser officiating.

Raymond Paul Sedley, aged 77, passed away peacefully on July 13, 2026, with his loving family by his side in Yorkton, SK. Born in London, Ontario, on April 3, 1949, Ray was one of three children born to Paul and Dorothy Sedley. He grew up in London, Ontario, attending H.B. Beal Secondary and Fanshawe College.
It was in London that he met the love of his life, Jackie (Cripps). The couple married in 1975, embarking on a beautiful 51-year journey together. In 1976, they moved west and made Yorkton, Saskatchewan, their permanent home and raised 3 boys along the way.
Ray was a man of immense passion, leaving a lasting mark on the Yorkton community through both music and sports. A talented musician, he shared his love of song across decades, playing in multiple bands including Adam and Eve, Bob & Betty Jean and the Country Tourists, Down Home Country, The Lonestar Boys, and Chevy and the Twisters. Most recently, he delighted audiences in a musical duo called The Reflections alongside his longtime bandmate and friend, Norm Sharp. Ray also shared his gift with others by teaching guitar for many years, passing on his love of music to the next generation.
When he wasn't playing music, Ray was either cheering on his favorite teams or giving back to the community. He was a die-hard fan of the Montreal Canadiens, the Toronto Blue Jays, and the Saskatchewan Roughriders. Ray also dedicated nearly 20 years to Yorkton Minor Sports as a dedicated coach and spent over a decade as the unmistakable, beloved "voice of the Yorkton Cardinals."
Above all, Ray was a legendary storyteller. Anyone who knew Ray knew about the countless stories he enjoyed sharing; he could instantly captivate and entertain strangers and lifelong friends alike with his tales.
Though he faced some health setbacks later in life, he met them with true resilience, never letting those challenges dim his bright spirits or his love for a good conversation.
Ray’s greatest pride was his family. He was predeceased by his parents, Dorothy and Paul Sedley. He is deeply missed and lovingly remembered by his wife, Jackie Sedley of Yorkton; his sons, Andrew (Kendra) of Yorkton, SK, Steve (Raylene) of Strathmore, AB, and Bryan of Yorkton, SK; and his cherished grandchildren, Emmett, Aidyn, and Isla, who all brought immense joy to his life.
