Fay Anita Patrick was born on June 28, 1951, in Esterhazy, Saskatchewan, to Bill and Anne Patrick.

Fay and Ben Appell were married on June 6, 1970, at St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church in Grayson, Saskatchewan. The beginning of their marriage was started by spending two years in Kamsack, SK while Ben pursued his career in education before returning to Grayson, where they raised their three daughters.

A devoted wife and mother, Fay was actively involved in her community. Once the girls were older, she worked as a teacher assistant at Grayson School alongside Ben and was an avid curler who enjoyed both the sport and the friendships it brought. She volunteered with the Heart and Stroke Foundation, supporting causes that were important to her.

For more than 35 years, Fay and Ben enjoyed summers at their cottage on Crooked Lake, where family and friends were always welcomed with open arms. In 1995, they moved to Yorkton, where Fay worked at McDiarmid Lumber before joining her daughter Stacy's company, First Choice Home Care, as Office Manager. She remained there for ten years before retiring in 2013. During her years in Yorkton, Fay was involved with Welcome Wagon which included welcoming newborns and new families to the community.

Over the years, Fay enjoyed many hobbies and pastimes, including stained glass, painting, spending evenings watching television, preparing for summer Granny Camp and having her beloved dog, Cali, by her side.

Retirement brought many happy winters in Tucson, Arizona, where Fay and Ben enjoyed the company of many dear friends. Fay will be remembered as the ultimate hostess who loved gathering family and friends around her table. She could always be counted on to cook up a feast, serve her famous appetizers, and make everyone feel at home. Known for her caring nature, Fay freely shared her gifts of empathy, kindness, and support to her family, friends, and all those fortunate enough to know her.

The House of the Lord welcomed Fay on July 27, 2026, at the age of 75.

Fay was predeceased by her parents, Bill and Anne Patrick. She leaves to cherish her memory; her loving husband of 56 years, Ben Appell of Yorkton; her daughters, Stacy (Corvyn) Neufeld of Yorkton, Penny (Paul) Johnson of Emerald Park, and Lindsay (Tsegaye) Appell of Regina; and her five cherished grandchildren: Grayson (Jordyn) Neufeld and Madison Neufeld, Taylor Johnson and Nolan (Kiarra) Johnson, and Biruk Tsegaye. She is also survived by her siblings, Gay (Audrey) Patrick and Suzanne Patrick, as well as her niece, Carla (Ken) Patrick, and nephew, Corey (Jan) Patrick.
