The family of James Swain of Yorkton, beloved husband of Sharon Swain, sadly announce his passing on Saturday, August 1, 2026. He was 71 years of age.
James Allen Swain was born on January 3, 1955, in Saltcoats, Saskatchewan, to parents William John Swain and Lillian (nee Lavalee) Swain.
James held many jobs over the years, including mechanics, welding, farming, and working for the railroad and the town of Bredenbury.
James was someone who loved being outside in the garage working on something, but his blue Chevy is something he took so much pride in. That truck was one beautiful suited up vehicle, with something new always added to it you always knew it was him coming up the block. James would always be willing to lend a helping hand no matter what the situation was. He loved country music, especially Waylen Jennings.
James was predeceased by his mother Lillian Swain and father John Swain; sister Valerie Wintonyk; brother Ed Wintonyk; and brother-in-law Dwayne Klemm.
James leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife Sharon Swain; son Stewart Swain; daughter Lanna Swain; sisters Myrna Klemm and Velma Lavalee; and brothers Lloyd Swain and Sid Swain; as well as many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
The Wake was held on Wednesday, August 4, 2026, from the Yorkton Christian Fellowship Church. A Funeral Service was held on Thursday, August 5, 2026, also from the Yorkton Christian Fellowship Church. The interment followed in the Garden of Tranquility, Yorkton Memorial Gardens.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Bailey’s Funeral Home and Cremation Care.
